So, I have had some requests to post up pictures of my leg now that surgery is over so I figured it was about time that I oblige.
First we have how I looked a few days before the surgery:
Sexy, no? That's the brace that I need to wear around. Cost the insurance company about $450.
Next up we have a shot of the way the leg looks now while it is in the brace and ice pack and compression stocking:
That blue thing is a pouch that holds an ice pack that I need to change every few hours to keep the swelling down.
Taking that and the brace off we have this:
Thats the compression stocking. It helps keep the swelling down. Goes from my toes to about halfway up my thigh. It's very tight fitting and also holds the gauze in place.
Next we remove the stocking to unveil the gauze beneath:
How hot is that? But now comes the real sex. If you don't want to see any blood do not scroll down any further. Just warning you.
Not too bad, eh? I was expecting much worse. Still not sure what is under that yellow stuff down below my knee in that picture right above. In the first picture from the above series check out the wound on the right. On the picture above you can sort of see the blood that was coming out of it. If you want to click here. It is a higher resolution picture of the wound I am talking about. You can see the blood starting to ooze out of it. By the time I got something to wipe it up with it was all the way down my leg. Awesome. Wish I took a picture of that.
So there you have it. A pictorial tour of my post surgery. Since those pictures were taken two black and blues have appeared. One under my knee and one down by my shin. Nothing too bad though, they are a discolored yellow sort of thing. Hope you enjoyed that.
