January 22 2005 -- Molten Chocolate
|
Well it's time for yet another review of a new product. Today it's from everyone's favorite new world order corporation, Starbucks.

Isn't that a nice promotional poster thing? Makes it look good, doesn’t it? It even has a fancy name, Chantico. Feels nice saying that, Chantico. Sophisticated and rich.
But anyway, lets actually do some tasting.

It comes in it's own special cup. It's own special 6oz tiny cup.
Giving it a sip you get an overwhelming taste of chocolate. Steinbo said it best when he took a taste "It tastes like molten chocolate." Ever have a glass of chocolate milk and get down to the bottom where all the stuff has settled? Well, imagine drinking a whole cup full of that and you have what the Chantico is. Their tag line for this thing is pretty accurate "Drinking Chocolate" because it is pretty much what you are doing when you are drinking it. Very think and very heavy the Chantico is a hard one to get through if you are not into chocolate.
I decided it needed something more, something to weaken the flavor a little bit...

Oh boy did that do the trick! Walking back in and having the people put on a nice dollop of whipped cream made this drink so much better. The whipped cream was able to counteract the intense chocolate flavor of the drink and make it become a much better beverage. Whipped cream should be standard on this thing and I recommend all of you get it on yours when you get one of these drinks.
Rating?
Plain it gets 2.5 out of 5. It wasn't bad but it was just too much.

Putting the whipped cream on we get a much more enjoyable drink. 3.5 out of 5. If you are going to try this make sure you get it with the whipped cream. Free of charge.

January 19 2005 -- Day 10.
|
Well, I seemed to have not posted anything about this grand experiment since day 5 so I figure I have some catching up to do..
Day 6

Day 7

Day 8

Day 9

Day 10

and to compare, day 1
Day 1

So it's a shame these pictures stink so much because my teeth still look yellow and filthy, as if nothing has changed at all. Well, that's not true at all. This stuff worked like a charm. My teeth are no longer yellow, the different shading is gone, and everything looks very pretty. If you are ever interested in getting your teeth whiter spend the $50 and do it right and order some of this stuff online. It works so much better then any of that cheap stuff you find in places like Wal Mart.
4 cheeses out of 5.
Worked like a charm. Just not giving it 5 stars because it was no fun having it in my mouth for an hour a day for 10 days.

January 19 2005 -- Linkified!

TMW fever is spreading! We are now linked from the site The Impulsive Buy on their Blogroll page. Snazzy, eh?
Pretty soon 78west is going to be the most popular page on the internet. Just you watch.

Hi, my name is DJNewStyle - singer/songwriter, cartoonist, and occaisional beer drinker.
However, I'm not here to tout all the crap I've put online. I'm here to announce that I've been secretly whitening my teeth! I think they're coming along quite well!
This is my day 5 photo:

January 18 2005 -- More candy!
|
Welcome back from the long weekend. We here at TMW had a wonderful vacation down at archebaldo 's place and we have a fresh batch of reviews for you.
To start the new week off right I present a handful of new candy goodness to get your sweet tooths (or is that teeth?) chomping.
First up we have the Twizzlers Sourz (z for extra coolness factor with the kids). Coming in a pretty generic candy wrapper with its loud colors and assorted fruit flavorz we find inside pretty generic sour candy.

With multiple flavors you will be sure to find one you at least like a little bit. How does it taste? Well, much like everything else about this candy it's pretty generic tasting as well offering nothing above or beyond the already standard sour candy Sour Patch Kids. Actually, these are of a slightly lower quality then the Sour Patch Kids and really give you no reason to come back and buy them again unless you have a strong need for Sour Patch Kids but can't find them.
Rating? 2 out of 5. Generic candy in every way. Buy them if you want something sour but can't find the old standard.

Next up we have yet another sour candy product once again coming in a generic candy wrapper with it's own logo and having the candy itself look pretty generic as well. Jolly Rancher Screamers (no z so it's automatically less cool)

Taste? Well, see above. This one once again offers nothing new to anyone and actually tastes sweet instead of sour. A waste of time if you want sour candy. Once again I say stick with the Sour Patch Kids if you want sour.
1.5 out of 5 for these guys for not even being sour.

Next we have the Jolly Rancher Rocks. Instead of coming in your generic wrapper like the previous two candies we find these in a stylish hard plastic case making them much easier to carry around and store if you don't eat them all at once.

Inside we find pastel coloured candies, quite pleasing to the eye but small enough to be a chocking hazard to young children.

Popping them in your mouth one will find a much lighter flavor then the original Jolly Rancher candies, much easier on your mouth too, not blowing you away with too much flavor. The candies themselves don't last too long either and can easily be chewed up if one does so desire after a short period.
Compared to the other two this candy actually can stand on it's own in a crowd and at least makes you think it is trying something new.
3 out of 5. Buy it if you are in the mood to try a new hard candy.

Well, that's about it for now. See you next time when I whip out some more reviews for some more new candy.
