December 24 2004 -- RIP

RIP Big Eds BBQ in Piscataway.  We hardly knew ya.

Opening up a few years ago Big Ed's gave us the joy of the best gosh darn ribs anywhere around here.  All you cant eat and finger licking good many a dinner were spent there eating up the food.  Well, it seems that not enough people enjoyed it or never bothered to try it because the place is now abandoned and there are no more good ribs to be had.  Maybe it was because it was in a horrible location or maybe there are too many Indians living in that area who don't eat pork.  I guess we will never know the reason we can no longer enjoy such tasty food.

Unlimited sadness for all.

December 22 2004 -- Nintendo DS at the Met? Quick one today..

Here is a great video of the Nintendo DS and what it can do if you put it in the hands of a bunch of Japanese people.

Who knows, maybe this will be the future and instead of all those pesky instruments all anyone will need is a handheld gaming device.

December 19 2004 -- No vanilla in this Dr. Pepper

Well, it's once again time for another new beverage review here at TMW and today I present to you..

Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper

What a big complicated name.  Anyway, the bottle itself is nothing too fancy but it must be enough to be getting everyone curious.  At the gas station where I get all this stuff it was the last bottle there, how's that for impressive?  Paying the $1.25 I took my find back into the car and braved the ice storm to bring you this short review.  I'll say this is an exclusive too as according to the Dr Pepper website this stuff is not even supposed to be available to buy around here until January 3rd.

Opening up the bottle the first thing I noticed were the bubbles.  They had a reddish tint to them clearly showing that this was indeed a cherry flavored soda.  Smelling it also backed up this observation.  But how about the most important part, the taste?  Well, it definitely has that familiar diet taste of fake sugar. The Dr. Pepper flavor is there and so is the cherry.  Where's the vanilla?  No idea.  You can't really taste it at all.  The website tells me that there should be a hint of it in there, nope.  Maybe the non diet would taste better as other people in the house agree with me on the vanilla taste lacking.

As I sit here I think I am more interested in Mortal Kombat: The Movie which is currently on TV.  I guess that isn't saying much about this soda.  Anyway, 3 cheeses out of 5 for this stuff.  It tastes like Dr Pepper which is a good thing and it tastes like cherries, which is also a good thing.  Bad things are it has that annoying diet taste and the vanilla is completely missing.

And I know this review stinks but I am tired. Good night.
