September 25 2004 -- Tech Support

Oooo.. two updates in one day!

Here is a nice little flash cartoon that accurately describes the current state of tech support for major computer companies.  Credit goes to
KGunKelly
for finding it.

September 25 2004 -- Walking Man

Well, so far this weekend has been a disaster.  I will give you all a complete update after tonight's events but until there here is a nifty animated gif for everyone to look at.

September 22 2004 -- Give peace a chance! I am mad that Bush wont just drop some a-bombs over in the middle east and vaporize every single last person over there.

Go watch the newest video and see how it makes you feel.

A link to a page containing a link to the video.

This one is beyond anything ever released before. Stupid army and commanders. We have no reason left not to start wiping out every last place that contains people like that.

September 20 2004 -- Delaware River Rising

So, Saturday, that was some rainstorm, eh? It started around 4am by me and woke me up with a bang. Thunder, lightning, things flying across the yard, chairs and umbrellas being knocked over, was pretty intense. Raining like a champ as well.

In the morning I awake to this:

Only a few inches away from the car of pain! Just imagine if I had pulled up a little further in the driveway! it would have been yet another dent to add onto the ever growing list of car problems (speaking of which I hope GM goes out of business and all of the executives are fired with a much smaller pension then they are supposed to get and that Sandy's dad gets a nice high paying job with Toyota)

Anywho, the roads were flooded and I decided to take a nap.

Around 6 I get reports that the Delaware River is rising to the highest point that it has been in years so my dad and I decide to go look around. Turns out the reports were correct as you can see:

You might say, "That doesn't seem too high", well, you are quite wrong. The river there is about 5 fee away from the bottom of the bridge.
Normally it is about 20 or something. Take a look at

this picture here
for a comparison, quite a difference, eh? We walked around some more and took a few more pictures of the current state of everything:

By the time we had left the road we had taken in to Eason was flooded and the bridge above was shut down in anticipation of the river going even higher.

Later that night I met up with Marc and we decided to venture back to the river. On the Phillipsburg side we found the whole section of town near the river evacuated. We found crowds of onlookers, cop cars, and lots of police tape. Marc and I decided it would be a good idea to try to climb up the steep hill to get ourseles up to Rt. 22 to try to cross over the higher bridge to see if we could get a better view. Somehow with my bad knee we made it up the steep hill with only one bad twist up on top. Took a while and was tiring but we made it and were ready to cross the bridge! Too bad we climbed up the wrong side of the bridge and we unable to get anywhere due to the pedestrian walkway being under construction. Doh!

We also found Marc's dad, who had somehow gotten himself a press pass and was hanging out with the NBC TV crew next to the river.

When they had to evacuate the section of town we were in he hopped in the TV truck and drove away, telling Marc and I (with the busted knee) to go climb the
hill the TV people were driving him up and meet him up on top. We did.
It hurt.

We now get reports that on the Easton side of the river everyone is allowed to walk right up to the edge of the water. Being that it is only around 30 after midnight and my knee is no longer throbbing from the hill adventure we drive over the state lines into the commonwealth of PA and start on our way towards the river. We got to walk right up on it and see the power of the water. Watching the trees get sucked under the bridge was quite snazzy. They would hit with a bang and get torn to shreds. At this point the water is only a foot or two below the bridge. The road that my dad and I had parked on earlier was completely under water. About an hour or so later my knee gives up and decided to go home. Marc follows, unwillingly, as he was in the middle of hitting on some cute high school girls

9:00am the next morning.. I decide to venture back to Easton to see everything in the light. Turns out the river never got as high as they had expected but it was still pretty darn close to the bridge..

That road that I have the picture above? This was as close as I was able to get to the spot where I took it from:

I took the picture the day before from someplace near that white pole right in the middle of the shot. And the one of the back of the sign I have up above? That sign is somewhere under the water here:

Here are two of the road that we had parked on the day before:

While I was there a house came and hit the bridge. Floated from upstream someplace. Saw it come out the other end.. was just a tiny pile of rubble. The night before a trailer/camper smashed into the bridge as well. Anyway, I leave you with a few more shots of downtown Easton...

And then two of the crowds looking around at the bridge:
