December 27 2004 -- Grape vodka
So vodka is usually made out of potatoes or grains. Well, not today sir! I present to you Ciroc vodka. Ciroc is unique as it is made from grapes. Yup. Grapes. When I mentioned this to mtbeedee his response was "You mean wine?". Nope, I mean vodka, and according to it's website it is vodka of the highest order and made from only the finest French grapes.Well, sorry to say it but much like the rest of the French this stuff stinks. Literally too. Opening up the bottle (it's corked at least which is nice) and taking a whiff the first thing you will notice is that cheap vodka rubbing alcohol smell. Not a very good first impression. Pouring some into a shot glass and taking a swig (after much debate) you will also notice the cheap vodka burn in the back of your throat, not something you really expect from a premium vodka. The flavor is also a bit odd. Maybe that is just because I am used to your normal vodkas like
Grey Goose and Ketel One which are most definitely not made from grapes. Everyone who tried the vodka
that night had the same reaction to it, a scruntched up face and sounds of displeasure.
Oh well.
Eventually we mixed the stuff with cranberry juice and finished off the bottle. No big loss there.
