Week of July 3, 2005

July 7 2005 -- Summer. In case you were wondering, which I know you weren't, we are all on vacation this week so I doubt there will be much going on here until next week.

So in the mean time go over to The Impulsive Buy or some of the other fine links on the left there and see what they have to say about life.

Bye-bye.

July 4 2005 -- AMERICA!!!!! Happy 4th of July everyone! On this day of celebration of the Independence of us here in America I figured I would review something patriotic, something that reminds us of America.

Uncle Sam Cereal with real mixed berries.

That's right folks. Cereal. But not just any cereal, a cereal that is red white and blue, and of course any cereal with those colors on it's box must be hardcore patriotic. Right? I mean, if it's not then I think someone needs to bring forth a great American lawsuit and shut those imposters down. We can't be slapping the red white and blue on everything! No sir, we need to keep it special. So, does this cereal live up to it's name? I suppose we should pour a bowl and find out.

Wow, um, how exciting. It's a thick and heavy brown, tiny flakes, and that really is the color they are. Not the bright and happy it looks on the box. There are quite a few berries in there (you can't seem them in the picture, but they are there), so I'll give it credit for that. But as always looks mean nothing, lets see how it tastes.

..one spoonfull later..

Oh man this is the worst cereal I have ever had. This stuff is even worse then Tiger Power Cereal At least with that stuff I was able to get a whole bowl down. This one beat me in a single spoonful. Wow. This isn't patriotic. I think it's a terrorist plot to destroy us all with organic cereal that tastes bad. There must be some way to salvage this mess. What can I find here in my kitch- er, I mean The Message Whore Laboratories? How about sugar? Hmm, well, it's edible now at least, so it's not a total loss. There really are a lot of betties, I am still surprised at that. Much more then any other dried berry cereal I have ever had. But even with that I still can't get over how bland and unexciting this cereal is. It's real heavy and if it weren't for the berries it would be lacking in any sort of flavor you would want in your mouth, and we all know how that feels.

1 cheese just because of the berries. This is not a good way to be celebrating America. I think I will go outside now and have some food off the bbq to make up for this all.
