November 5 2005 -- Game report
|
Well it was time to play some board games and tonight it was Risk 2210.
It started off all honkey dorey.. I had South America, PatBoyX had most of Africa, Joph had, well, everything, and skenn had North America.
Things went as planned until I decided it would be a good idea to take over the moon. In a suprise attack Joph wiped out half of my units and proceeded to dominate space.

That was the start of the end. He had the moon and it only got worse from there.

Skenn had the Enclave. He was holding out for almost the entire game. He was the wedge between both PatBoyX and Joph. Neither wanted to take him down because once he was defeated there would be no buffer between the two armies...
But Joph became too powerful.

Skenn was defeated. The Enclave had been lost. Ukrayina was still his but it was only moments before Joph took that down as well.
Was there no stopping this machine? From the moon to the seas Joph was destroying.
But that was until PatBoyX managed to roll the dice right and hold him off.

Somehow PayBoyX managed to keep Nova Brasilia. Joph could not shut down his sea colony. Even after everyone else had been wiped from the face of the Earth PatBoyX stood tall.
I had one guy left down near Cape Horn.

Just one. It seemed that had forgotten about me, oops, no wait, they noticed me and I was destroyed as well.
Joph had dominated. He started off the game saying that there would be no way to stop him, and it was true. He had won.
Skenn was wiped off the map first. Then me. PatBoy kept his one territory but was pretty must dominated. Joph had won. His record now stands at 6 - 0 in Risk 2210.

Total playing time: uh... three and a half hours. I think.
Anyone else out there play anything good? Let me know. Leave a comment.

November 2 2005 -- A couple days late..
|
Well here it is, the end of a season. It's Halloween and what have we to show for ourselves? Did you get dressed up in costume? Did you go out Trick or Treat'ing? Did you buy into all of the hype and throw your hard earned cash into the corporate cash cow known as merchandising? Was that statement even correct?
Well if you answered yes to spending your money on goods that have no reason to exist besides to make money for companies trying to milk us dry during the Halloween season, well, I have two words for you. Good job! You can consider yourself a proud member of the TMW elite, those who will spend their money fearlessly on anything that says NEW! on it or LIMITED EDITION! We are not suckers for catch phrases, no! We are pioneers who brave the waters of untested products. We are the first on the block to eat the latest goodies. We are amazing.
So, at the end of this pumpkin filled season I went to Starbucks one last time to see what I could find. Was there anything new for me to buy? You better believe it. You think that a company that has made it's living off of selling simple things like coffee for exhorbanant (how the hell do you spell that word? Someone please comment on that issue) prices would miss out on this season? No sirs. For the holiday (if you can even consider today that) they had for us a new latte.

The Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.
As you might have been able to tell, my camera is still in non working condition so I am still using the crappy cell phone cam.
Just check out that colour! What else screams out the season of fall better than a mutant neon yellow? And yes, that is the real color. Actually, outside of the monitor and it real life it is a whole light brighter. Spooky.
So, anywho, what does it taste like. Is it worthy of the Starbucks name? Well, it was a tad pricey and it comes in a Starbucks cup, I suppose that is all anything needs to be worthy of the Starbucks name. But the flavor, man! That is what really counts. Is it any good? Eh. It tastes okay. Nothing too special. I guess it tastes like pumpkins, I really don't know, I am not too big a fan of pumpkins. Actually, I might be a big fan of pumpkins but being that i will eat something pumpkin related maybe once a year I wouldn’t even know. Meh.
Anyway, 2.5 cheeses. It wasn't too bad and I finished the whole thing but now that it's finished and it's been a while since I have had it I really don't remember it at all. There are fleeting phantom flavors in my mouth but it isn’t something I would go back for again. It was nice to have once so if you are curious I'd say give it a shot.
So. Here are the cheesi. Enjoy.
