November 1 2004 -- New Product Whore - Spicing It Up.

Well, Pepsi strikes fear into the population again, unleashing yet another new and wild drink.. PepsiCola Limited Edition Holiday Spice

Well, what can I say about this stuff?  It's a ginger and cinnamon flavored Pepsi, "a festive blend of holiday spices and great tasting Pepsi".  Smelling it you don't really get a strong sent of anything but Pepsi.  The coloring of the soda itself is a reddish black, nothing very special but at least it has a bit of cheer to it.  Tasting it you might not notice much different at first.  It took me a few hefty gulps to get the flavor out of the soda and most of that came from a post drink burp.  After a bit you will taste the cinnamon in the soda, its not too strong and not too weak.  As for the ginger that is supposed to be in there, well, I might be tasting it or I may be simply thinking that I am tasting it, I'm not too sure, but none the less, it's a weak flavor.

So what's my rating of this soda..  I'll give it 3 out of 5.  Not a bad showing by Pepsi this time around, MUCH better then Pepsi Blue which was a pile of crap.  Would I buy this one again?  Most likely.  I'll at least buy a few cases to sell on ebay in a year or so once it goes off the market.

It's only around for a limited time so I say go for it and try yourself some, I doubt you will regret this one.

October 31 2004 -- Candy time.

So, it's time for yet another new product review.  Today I bring you Nestle's Overload.  They are pretty much Recees Peanutbutter Cups overloaded with other types of candy.  I found these last night at the Wawa in Easton, PA during one of my new candy hunts.  Luckily I snagged these before Avi could so I have the win on them.  Avi won on the new Recees Peanut Butter Cups though, he also owns the score for Nerds Rope which is still the champion of new candies.  The race is still on to topple that record.

Three assorted flavors, Butterfinger, "Nestle Candies" (which are M&Ms), and some Crunch Bar stuff.

Opening up the package we find the three cups inside.

It seems like the M&Ms took over the plant as I found one in the Butterfinger cup and one in the Cruch cup.  Looking at it makes me wonder if it will be any good, especially that Butterfinger one.  Only three things?  That's a bit lame.  Maybe there are more hidden inside to kick the flavor up a notch.

Biting in we find nothing.  What you see is what you get, nothing hidden inside.  The Butterfinger bite thing didn't even taste like a Butterfinger.  Tasted almost like a nut, it was hard and quite crunchy.  The same was with the rest of the candy cups.  Only what you saw on the top is what you got.  I suppose that is why they are called Overload, the stuff is only loaded over top of the cups.

Would I recommend these to anyone?  Not really.  The flavors didn't really match as well as I would have hoped.  The peanut butter  cups themselves were not very tasty either.  It's a neat little treat to have but not something you would want to come back for more of.

For a ranking I will give it 2 stars out of, hmm, lets say 5.  I can't give it a one or a zero since it was actually able to eat it.  Those rankings are saved for pure filth.
