Now this is a Valentines day to remember, who else goes out on Valentine’s day and gets interviewed by two newspapers and filmed for the 10 o’clock news? Talk about being fancy!

White Castle. If you remember, or just look below this post, you will see that I promised to tell everyone about one of the most unique Valentine’s day dining experiences offered in this wonderful country of ours. White Castle. Yup, White Castle on Valentine’s day. You get a waitress, a menu, and candle lights. It’s not something you see everyday at what is considered the lowest of the fast food joints, although many of us take offense to that, but I think it’s something you need to grow up with in order to understand, that’s a different story though.

Yup, that’s right, table cloths (a huge deal!), flowers (fake but still pretty), and candles.

Lets not forget that menu! All printed up and dated so you can remember the special day at White Castle.

The inside is just as good as the cover..

Just check out that #3! The Sweetheart Special. Who can resist? 10 burgers, fries, some drinks, and it has a cute little name that you and your girlfriend can make eyes over,
The presentation of the food was also top notch, you’d expect nothing less from a joint this classy.

AWWW!! A cute little heart made out of ketchup! Sorry, not included with the meal, you’ll need a girlfriend as talented as mine in order to get something that cool.
So anyway, about the crowd. White Castle was packed with reporters, camera crews, and the seats were filling up. When I called the number to make a reservation last week they told me that their Valentine’s Day dinner was filling up and there were not many seats left, by the looks of the place by the time we left I’d say that was pretty true. Over the course of the meal we were photographed dozens of times (not an exaggeration), filmed by a crew from a local news station, interviewed on camera, and had two reporters from two different newspapers ask us things and take notes on us. Will any of it actually show up in any of the papers? I guess we’ll find out but as we were leaving a family of older people with the men in suits and ties and the women dressed in furs walked in, I bet they’ll take away all of the interest from us poor young people.
It was a very amusing night out. For me at least. My girlfriend was a bit turned off by the constant cameras around her but at least we were given coupons for 6 free burgers, so about half of the meal was given back to us. The service was actually really good, better than some chain restaurants I have been to (Hey Friday’s, you suck).
It was a fun time, I would say anyone who is looking for a night out that will be remembered for a while to give it a shot when it comes around next year.
The Holy 5 Cheese Grail. (less from my date due to cameras swooning over her)

Oh, update. I was just on NJN news, the film made the air. My 15 minutes of fame is now. Woo. Woke up today (2/15) and found myself in the Home News Tribune and The Star Ledger, both NJ papers. Star Ledger got my name wrong and the Home News Tribune used our picture. Valentine’s Day at White Castle has made me famous.

You will forever be known as, “That Dude Who Took His Woman to White Castle for Valentine’s Day.”
I WANTED THAT TITLE!!!
But alas, I don’t have a White Castle here and dozens of people go to McDonald’s for Valentine’s Day…Oh yeah, plus I don’t have a woman.
